Meet Me

Hi, I’m Camille! For the last five years I’ve lived and traveled in over twenty countries across the world as a single woman, built a successful business from scratch, inspired millions of people with my blog This American Girl, and created a life that offers me adventure, fulfillment, and joy. I’m a certified Vinyasa yoga and Yin yoga instructor, Dance Mandala facilitator, a Reiki practitioner, and I’ve studied and practiced many forms of healing including Tantra, Women’s Circles, Ceremonies, Compassionate Listening, and Sacred Femininity. I created this retreat to support women on their journeys towards courageous, open hearted living, and it is with great joy that I share it with you.

Testimonials From My Past Retreats

“To call it a retreat really doesn’t do it justice. I’ll call it an arrival. An arrival to the self, to nature, to community, to your truth. Be ready to show up in ways you never knew you could, to transcend your limitations and to fall madly in love with life.” – Sonja, Jungle Bliss May 2016

I signed up for the retreat to relax a bit and practice yoga. What I got was so much more than I could ever expect or even imagine. I laughed, cried, loved, and grew with amazing women whose bonds I will carry with me for the rest of my life. ” – Liz, Jungle Bliss October 2015

“Camille puts all of her energy into making the retreat inspiring, safe, and wonderful for each participant. This is a unique and special experience worth every penny. You will leave with a greater appreciation for life.” – Dagny, Jungle Bliss February 2016

“From the opening to the closing ceremony, Camille guided us into a safe haven of sisters in which I was able to explore my deepest thoughts, awaken my inner child, rejuvenate my soul, and ultimately, discover MY bliss…the jungle was a bonus!” – Sarah, Jungle Bliss May 2016

“I cant express how immensely happy I am that I chose to do this retreat. I now have 7 new amazing lifelong friends I wouldn’t have had prior to coming, and a brand new perspective to life that I know is only going to bring in more positivity. I highly recommend this retreat to anyone who needs to hit the reset button, who wants to unleash their inner child, and who is seeking to really find out their truth which has been lying within you all along.” -Tyler Renee, Jungle Bliss May 2016

  3. Any suggestions for a twenty something female travelling solo in Central am looking for yoga and surfing?

  4. Hi Camille,
I was wondering if you had any photos or itineraries from your previous retreats?
Feeling super keen for your next retreat, just needing a little more you know!
    X Olivia

    • Camille Willemain Says: November 2, 2016 at 10:29 pm

Hey Olivia thanks so much for your interest :) I don’t have photos or itineraries from this retreat because it’s the first one in Thailand. You can get more details on my past retreats plus photos here:

As far as itineraries, I keep those private as they always change depending on the location, vibe of the group, and my own intuitive sense. However expect a combination of nature/adventure excursions, women’s circles/ceremonies, fun cultural activities, free days to spend by yourself, daily yoga/dance fusion practices, restorative/yin yoga, and some deepening, highly transformative experiences and exercises.

  5. Hey! I am seriously considering this trip. I just drove from Ontario to Seattle about to cross the border to work in Vancouver for 6 months.
I will see if I can get away for a couple of weeks. Hope it doesn’t fill up too fast.

  6. Looking forward to getting more information from you on the retreat.

  7. Hi Camille,
I know it’s kind of a long way off, but I am planning on going to Thailand next Dec.. 2017.. do you happen to know yet if you will be having a retreat then??
Thank you and blessings on your new journey 🌟❤️️

    • Camille Willemain Says: December 10, 2016 at 5:58 pm

Hi Lynn :) This is the only retreat I have planned in Thailand for the forseeable future. If you definitely want to come I recommend joining us this February :) xoxo

  8. hi camille, until when are you gonna be there in koh yao noi? i’am going early this january there and hope to meet you there since its a very private island.. hope i bumped into you :)

    • Camille Willemain Says: December 14, 2016 at 5:42 pm

Hey love, that’s beautiful. I will be up in Chiang Mai in January, not back in Koh Yao Noi until mid February. I hope you have a wonderful time though, this island is magic, and I’ll share some tips on the blog xoxo

  9. Hello! Just 2 questions about your retreat:
    – how intense would you say the adventures are? I’ve been dealing with pretty bad plantar faciitis for a while and can’t do a ton of walking so that is a big consideration for me.
    – is the food served vegan friendly?

    • Camille Willemain Says: December 16, 2016 at 10:16 pm

Hi there :) Ouch, I’m sorry you have the plantar facitis. Well, there will be about 20 minutes of walking (part of it is quite steep) every morning to get to our oceanview yoga shala, then back down again, possibly some jungle hikes too. Our lodging is up on a hill so it’s a 5 or so minute walk up steep steps to get to the bungalows (oceanview). Otherwise most of the activities will be done via boat, so you’re more likely to be kayaking or swimming than walking. Getting around the island can be done by bicycle, but walking is nice because there are some hills. The retreat is definitely physically active, so if you don’t feel comfortable moving a lot and being really energetic it’s probably not the retreat for you, but we won’t be climbing any mountains. Oh, and yes, there are vegan options :)

      • Thanks! I have a lot to consider. I love biking though so getting around on a bike is totally doable for me as long as I have access to a bike.

        • Camille Willemain Says: December 16, 2016 at 10:46 pm

Lovely :) Yes you can rent a bicycle from our bungalows! However, just an FYI for the steps getting to yoga and the bungalows walking is the only way. Hope it works out <3 And I wish you much healing, I know how painful that can be with the feet, I’ve had it slightly before from walking all over Rome for months on cobblestones with bad shoes.

  10. […] Retreats […]

Hello Camille I just want to say your story is nothing but inspiring. You are everything I have been wanting to be for years. Fear plays a key role in a lot of life’s unadventured paths. I am so sick of that! Your retreats would be a life changing experience in every sense, and that is exactly what I need. I’f you could please share some information of when your next retreat will take place If you have any of course. That would be amazing. I am already saving up money for when the opportunity offers itself. I’m just so excited.

    • Camille Willemain Says: April 24, 2017 at 4:47 pm
